“There is no glory in practice, but without practice there is no glory.”

At anytime while playing volleyball, practice is exhausting and often involves a lot of hard work. It’s never easy, but you have to be willing to give it your all. Practice is never easy nor fun, but the outcome of the many games you will play or the many tournaments you will appear to play in will be well worth all of the hard work and dedication in the end. Those trophy’s you will take home and the many wins will help you realize how much heart you put into the game. You should always give 110 percent to see the glory in all good things. A lose isn’t you losing a game, it is you learning how to fix your mistakes to be ready for the next battle. Always work hard to find the glory in all things!

The long practices, the week of conditioning that seems like ten years, the many line drills, the lots of running, and the hard work put in, not everyone finds that very fun. If you are someone like me or some of the girls on my team, we do this stuff for the game that we play. The love and passion that we have for volleyball will continue to grow. The games that we play that take competition are the games we love to play. We give heart in every game. We never know when it will be our last because anything can happen. Some people may think that volleyball is not fun at all, but me, I do. From sliding all over the floor and getting floor burns everywhere, to hitting in different front roll positions, serving many aces, and giving everything I’ve got, I play this game because I think it is fun and it is something I love to do. I wouldn’t trade being on the court for anything in the world, well maybe, but it would take a whole lot. What is something that you love to do that you find fun?

Club ball. Club ball is the start of fresh, new beginnings in playing volleyball all year long. We play in many tournaments and face many different teams. Out of the several tournaments we have played in our team has grew super close with another team. We have played at basically every tournament together, against each other. We may win against each other or we may lose, but we always remained kind to one another and had loads of fun while doing it. Fireball is a team that we will remember for ever and for as long as we play club ball. They are one of the many teams that we always looked forward to seeing at every tournament. Every team can bond, and we created a bond with them!

On Saturday, we played in a tournament in Perryville. We came out with second place in the gold bracket. We only lost one game out of the many we played and we didn’t have our usual setter. Through the long hours, having a hurt ankle, and being sleep deprived I worked my tail off. I am super proud of me and my team for working so hard and putting our all into the games that we play. In our semi-final game we played a close three sets with a good team, but we pulled it off and won. We had such a great day full of volleyball and I couldn’t be any more happier with the outcome. 

Me, as well as my team have one HUGE goal that we dream to conquer. We have all been dreaming and working super hard to make this possible since fifth or sixth grade. This is a huge role we want to take on together and be the best we can be. We have been working out in the weight room and doing yoga all year throughout the week to prepare to get past districts. This is a goal. To work hard and come down to be in the final four would be AMAZING. Playing club ball and winning games has pushed us to strive to be better and go way harder than ever. 

Me and my team play in Perryville on Saturday for our last club ball tournament there. After that, we are off for a couple weeks until we play a full weekend in St. Louis. This tournament will be our very last tournament for this year until our last club ball season we will ever get to play next year. We are going to work extra hard to bring home a trophy and big wins. We love the game and will do anything to take home some dubs. We work hard and earn the wins that we gain. We love adding on to our winning streak. This is what we do best and will continue to do.
